Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In the past year, I focused on reviewing the literature related to false health information. The research output includes one peer-reviewed journal article (published in Information) and one peer-reviewed conference proceeding article (presented in ICEB 2023 in Taiwan). In addition, I attended two conferences (i.e., ICEB 2023 in Taiwan and ICBEIT in Okinawa) to present the findings and also presented in two invited presentations in Taiwan.
In addition, I have been invited to deliver my research findings at National Cheng Chi University (2023-10-20) and Tajen University (2023-10-23) in Taiwan.
Based on the findings of the literature review, I developed a research model for explaining why false health information is created and disseminated online, as well as finding potential methods to slow down the spreading of such information. As indicated in the proposal, the model developed will be used for further qualitative (semi-structured interviews) and quantitative (survey) studies to be conducted in the current and next fiscal years, respectively.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
I have completed the review of the literature as planned. The findings of my literature review provide me with the foundation to move to the second stage of this project, i.e., to conduct semi-structured interviews in the current year.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
In this year, I will conduct the qualitative part of the project and will arrange for conducting semi-structured interviews to collect qualitative data to test if the proposed model developed based on the literature review is supported. As planned, I will conduct interviews on Guam (US Territory), Japan and Hong Kong. Currently, I am planning to extend the data collection process to other locations in the U.S. and Taiwan.
