Outline of Annual Research Achievements

In 2022, the main research objective was to collect on-site data in Japan, with an ad hoc individual data collection protocol relying on a computer interface designed in collaboration with Dr Fontan and V. De Fino (ALAIA research lab, Archean technologies and Toulouse III University). The protocol was prepared in collaboration with all the team members, to select typical error patterns among Japanese learners of French across different parts of speech categories, and then implement a double-step bimodal (spoken and written) recording translation task (data was collected for 40 students). A conference was organized in Paris (IPFC2022), and several related papers were published or presented internationally (IPFC2022, SR2022, InterSpeech2022, EuroSla31).

3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.

Reason

Due to the COVID, the whole project was slowed down and had to recalibrate some of its initial objectives.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

The main next stage of our project will focus of the analysis of our data collection protocol and of our collected data.
