Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
We studied semiconducting and metallic as well as magnetic nanoparticles with regard to their electronic, magnetic and optical properties. We employed first-principles calculations and measurements their electronic, magnetic and optical properties. The studied nanoparticles included, silicon nanoparticles, silicon-tin nanoparticles, silicon-carbide nanoparticles, nickel-oxide nanoparticles, carbon-quantum dots with and without functional groups.
