Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The initial stage of this research project concentrated on three areas: (1) Reviewing current literature on teacher training and pedagogical trends; (2) Creating and administering an online needs analysis questionnaire on problems which English teachers in Japan face, and possible topics for the teacher-training workshops; (3) Designing the workshops and creating authentic material for the workshops and for the pilot version of the EKL website. During this stage, key educators within Japan were interviewed. In addition, some key educators were asked to take part in the workshops during stages 2-5 of the research project.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
The research team plans to hold two workshops in 2022. In addition they will administer questionnaires based on pre-service teachers' needs and the efficacy of the workshops.
