Outline of Annual Research Achievements

前年度迄に開発したひまわり 8 号の全球輝度画像データから夜光雲を自動検出する手法を用いて, ひまわり 8 号の全データ (2015/07/07-2022/12/13) を解析し, 夜光雲データベースを作成した. 夜光雲データの科学利用を広く促進する為に, データ公開用ウェブサイトを構築してデータ公開を開始したところ, 国内外の複数の研究グループからデータ利用のリクエストがあり, 共同研究を開始している. 加えて, 市民サイエンスへの貢献も意識し, 日々の夜光雲の観測情報を twitter で発信するシステムも開発し, その運用を開始している. 並行して, 前年度迄に開発した夜光雲の構造追跡による背景大気の風速 (追跡風速) の推定手法を用いて, 追跡風速のデータベース作成にも着手している.

1: Research has progressed more than it was originally planned.

Reason

ひまわり 8 号の全球輝度画像データを用いた夜光雲検出に関して, 夜光雲検出データベースの公開まで完了し, 既に国内外の複数の研究グループから科学研究の為のデータ利用のリクエストを受けて共同研究が開始されていることから, 当初の計画以上に進展していると考える.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

夜光雲特性量の推定手法の開発を中心に以下の内容を実施する計画である.
(1) 夜光雲 自動検出 - ひまわり 8 号 (-2022/12/13) の観測データ用に開発した自動検出手法をひまわり 9 号 (2022/12/13-) の観測データに適用する為の改良を進める.
(2) 夜光雲 粒径分布 解析 - 解析の高精度化の為に, 地表面からの反射光や大気のレイリー散乱光による寄与を考慮した計算方法の開発に取組む.
(3) 夜光雲 追跡風速 解析 - データベース化を進めている追跡風速データの検証として, 地上レーダー観測による風速データとの比較に向けた準備・検討を開始する.
(4) 地上光学観測 分光器 - 仮組みした小型可視分光器の試験・調整を進め, 次年度以降の連携観測の観測計画を立案する.
(5) 地上光学観測 ライダー - 次年度以降の連携観測に向けて, 観測装置の保守整備を継続的に実施する.
