Keywords | Beryllium / Baltic Sea |
Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
This year has been focused on setting up a lab space for beryllium analyses. We have installed a new fume hood, acquired necessary equipment like a centrifuge and hot plate, as well as procured consumables. We have also been focusing on interpreting the existing Beryllium data from Antarctica and preparing several publications. The laboratory setup has required additional time and increased expense due to the historically weak yen. As a result not all the setup could be completed this fiscal year.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.
Reason
Due to the policies of the Bank of Japan that have created a spectacularly weak yen, the research budget was no longer sufficient to purchase all the needed material this fiscal year.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
During this fiscal year, analyses will begin and we expect smooth progress.
