Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
We reported the striking temperature-responsive optical-vibrational properties for thio/selenocyanato-bridged Fe(II) complexes, which inspired us to determine the thermometric characteristics of both compounds. Moreover, in the process of analyzing another Fe(II) complex's crystal structures, we found the potential of mechanical exfoliation into nanosheets from two-dimensional materials.

Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
In the last fiscal year, I have summarized my experimental results and published four papers in the first author related to thio/selenocyanato-bridged networks as planned listed below. 1) Guanping Li et al., Chem. Mater., 2023, 35(22), 9613-9622. 2) Guanping Li et al., J. Phy. Chem. Lett., 2023, 14(46), 10420-10426. 3) Guanping Li et al., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., 2023, 62, e202214673. 4) Guanping Li et al., Inorg. Chem., 2023, 62, 3278-3287. Based on these results, I participated in two domestic and two international conferences to present my work to other researchers. The research is going smoothly as planned in the proposal.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
In the future, I will synthesize more multifunctional networks and investigate deeper into magnetic, spectroscopic, and optical properties tuned by temperature, light, and pressure. Simultaneously, using calculation packages such as the Vienna Ab initio Simulation Package (VASP) or Gaussian 16 for verifying and explaining experimental results should be another vital topic for future work. Moreover, since some of my compounds reveal paramagnetic properties, combining Terahertz or Raman spectroscopy with a magnetic field enables the precise characterization of zero-field splitting, providing detailed insights into the electronic structure and magnetic properties, which can be another promising topic in the near future investigation.
