Outline of Annual Research Achievements

近年、様々な機能性分子材料や生理活性物質の合成と相まって、効率のよい新しい結合形成反応の開発が、ますます重要な研究課題となっている。本研究では、有機化合物中に普遍的に存在する炭素―水素結合および炭素―炭素結合を選択的に活性化し、それらを切断することによって高度な分子変換を可能とする触媒系の開発を行うとともに、環境調和性の高い効率的な機能性分子の創成法を開拓することを目的としている。
平成26年度は、まず第二周期遷移金属のパラジウムおよびロジウムを中心金属とする一連の錯体触媒を調製または系中発生させ、これらの触媒存在下、種々の官能基を有する芳香族基質上でのカップリング反応を検討した。その結果、かさ高いリン配位子を持つパラジウム触媒が、脱炭酸を伴うアリール化やビニル化に加え、分子内直接環化反応に有効であることを見出した。これらの方法を用い、半導体特性を示す高度縮環ベンゾチオフェン類の合成法を確立した。さらにパラジウム触媒を用いた芳香族複素環の直接ベンジル化法を見出した。ロジウム触媒を用いる反応では、無修飾のアミノ基やホスフィンスルフィドおよびジチアンのような含窒素および硫黄配向基とする芳香族基質と、アルケンやアルキンとの新しい直接カップリング法を開発した。第三周期のイリジウムを用いることで脱カルボニル化を伴う酸塩化物とアルキンとの環化カップリングによるフェナントレン類の効率的構築法を開発した。一方で、安価で単純な第一周期遷移金属である銅のカルボキシラート塩を用いる新規反応も検討し、分子内脱水素環化によるカルバゾール類やアクリジン類の合成法を見出した。これらの反応は、生理活性化合物や発光材料の合成ツールとして有用であると考えられる。

Reason

当初計画した第二周期遷移金属錯体触媒の調製を行った。また、これらを用いた炭素結合形成反応を検討し、パラジウムおよびロジウム錯体触媒を用いる触媒反応をそれぞれ開発した。さらに、第三周期のイリジウム触媒を用いる新たなカップリング反応を開発するとともにその反応機構を明らかにした。一方で、安価な第一周期の銅塩を用いる分子内脱水素反応による含窒素複素環化合物の新規合成法を開発した。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

上述のように第一周期から第三周期遷移金属触媒の調製と活用の検討によって、新たな合成法を見出したので、錯体触媒のさらなるファインチューニングと新たな配位子の設計・合成を継続的に検討し、より効率的な新合成法を確立する。また錯体触媒を用いた、複素環形成反応を電子共役材料の創成に活用する。
