Outline of Final Research Achievements |
A large-scale and cost-effective production of hydrogen by thermochemical water splitting cycles using concentrated solar radiation as a source of heat is of great importance. Sulfur-based cycles using the decomposition of sulfuric acid as an oxygen-generating reaction become a promising candidate for such a purpose. This study developed the novel catalyst materials for sulfuric acid decomposition, focusing on supported copper vanadates characterized by its lower melting points.
