Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Through a re-evaluation of the literature and arts within the culture of German-speaking countries in the second half of the 19th century and in the beginning of the 20th century the influence of the rapidly growing science on aesthetical imagination was investigated and explicated in various fields of academic research. Especially concerning the influence of new theories of psychiatry/psychology, physiology/medicine and biology on the understanding and the methods of description of humans and theoretical concepts in the arts, the assumptions made in the beginning of the project could be confirmed.
