Research Abstract

本研究は､日本列島における後期旧石器文化成立の一端を解明するため、最終氷期における列島への北からの移住史について考古学・形態人類学の両面から探求する。そのために、(１)北海道・嶋木遺跡の発掘調査を通じて、これまで情報が乏しかった同地域における後期旧石器時代初頭の文化形態について明らかにし、(２)これをシベリア南東部・中国北東部・モンゴルの考古資料との比較し、さらに(３)日本､中国､モンゴルから知られている後期更新世～完新世前半期の人骨化石の詳細な形態学的比較解析を実施する。
平成２４年度は、研究初年度のため、研究体制の整備と分析対象資料の抽出などに重点を置いた。具体的な研究課題の遂行実績は以下のとおりである。
（１）北海道の最終氷期最盛期遺跡である柏台1遺跡および川西Ｃ遺跡の遺跡内空間分布の解析を継続し、その成果の一部を雑誌Geoarchaeologyに投稿し、掲載された。（２）嶋木遺跡の発掘調査を実施し、地質編年及び空間分布に関するデータの分析を継続した。地質編年については雑誌Geoarchaeologyに投稿し、掲載された。(３)帯広市教育委員会所蔵の石器資料の行動論的石器分析を行った。黒曜石分析の結果については、英文雑誌に投稿中である。(４)海外の参照地域のデータ収集と討議のため、海外研究協力者の協力を得て、モンゴル・ウランバートル市で資料調査を行い、その成果は、2014年6月の東アジア考古学会で発表予定である。(５)現在までにわかってきた研究成果の一部は、アメリカ考古学会、アジア旧石器協会、国内学会等で発表し、また米国、ロシア、韓国、日本で関連する招待講演を行った。また、(６)首都大学東京において国際シンポジウムを開催し、国内外の研究の現状と今後の課題を討議した。

Reason

北海道の当該遺跡の分析は、計画通り進行している。海外の参照地域のデータについても、概ね計画通り進行している。成果の公表については、査読付き英文雑誌に合計10本以上に達し、予定よりも早く実績が上がった。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

特に変更を要しないが、黒曜石分析結果と狩猟採集民の行動復元の具体的な研究手法の確立を目指し、重点的に対応したい。
