Outline of Annual Research Achievements

組織化磁性内包フラーレンの物性評価として、伝導性や固体EPRの測定を行い、物性を明らかにすることを試みた。常磁性内包フラーレンナノロッドおよび薄膜に対して伝導特性や磁気特性を系統的に調べ、組織体全体に及ぶ電子的・磁気的な性質を、常磁性内包フラーレン同士の「分子間相互作用」をキーワードとして明らかにした。また、それによって得られた知見を基に新しい物質や機能への開発の手掛かりとした。
組織化磁性内包フラーレンのデバイスへの応用を実現するためには、その位置や配向を制御することが重要な課題である。最近、共磁場中での材料プロセッシングによって高分子や繊維の配向を制御できることが明らかにされている。申請者はすでにLa@C82Adナノロッドの磁場配向について予備的実験を行い、磁場の印加によって配向が制御できることを明らかにしている。本研究ではこの強磁場を用いたその他の組織化磁性金属内包フラーレンの配向制御に成功し、結晶内の分子配列を踏まえながらその磁気特性について理解を深めた。
