Outline of Final Research Achievements

Films of Bi(Zn1/2Ti1/2)O3 - Bi(Mg1/2Ti1/2)O3 - BiFeO3 system were investigated for lead-free piezoelectric applications. Crystal distortion of tetragonal phase cannot modify by La substitutions. Bi(Mg1/2Ti1/2)O3 films were found to show ferroelectricity as well as piezoelectricity. Crystal symmetry change between tetragonal and rhombohedral symmetry was discovered in Bi(Zn1/2Ti1/2)O3 - Bi(Mg1/2Ti1/2)O3 system. Finally, (111) one-axis-oriented films showed the piezoelectricity of PFM-d33 = 200 pm/V.
