超高速化量子分子動力学法による希土類元素含有材料理論設計のための基盤研究

Research Abstract

わが国の各基盤産業に欠かせない希土類元素の本質的役割を電子・原子レベルで理論的に解明し,希土類元素に可能な限り頼らない,あるいはより有効に活用する新たなモノづくり技術を発展させるために,これまで独自に開発してきた従来の第一原理的手法より1000万倍高速な超高速化量子分子動力学法シミュレータについて,希土類元素の電子状態計算収束性を向上させ高精度化するとともに,希土類含有材料の化学反応ダイナミクス解明を行う.これにより,世界初の希土類元素含有材料の理論設計を指向した超高速大規模量子ダイナミクスシミュレーション技術を構築することを目的としている.
超高速化量子分子動力学法の電子状態計算部分においては,ハミルトニアンにパラメータを用い,計算の省力化をすることで高速化を実現している.パラメータは,Slater型原子軌道関数の空間的広がりを表すゼータ指数と軌道エネルギー準位である.第一原理計算プログラムを使用した希土類元素含有材料の電子状態計算も並行して進めながら,この第一原理計算により得られた計算対象物質の電子状態,結合エネルギーなどを再現するように,パラメータを決定してきた.平成25年度は,この決定方法における基本的な考え方は踏襲ながら,第一原理計算では収束が困難な希土類元素であるNdおよびPrの含有物質について,実験による熱力学データも参照することによって高精度なパラメータを決定することに成功した.

次年度使用額は,研究を効率的に推進したことに伴い発生した未使用額である.
平成26年度請求額とあわせ,負荷の大きくなることが予想される化学反応ダイナミクス計算を中心とした平成26年度の研究遂行に使用する予定である.
