Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Molecular epidemiology of diarrheal viruses was conducted every year finally against 14 viruses. Sever cases of rotavirus gastroenteritis decreased but reassortant rotaviruses were increased after the initiation of the rotavirus vaccination. Norovirus GII.4 Sydney_2012 was major and a new strain of norovirus GII.17 Kawasaki_2014 was recognized. Sapovirus immunochromatograpy kit which reacts with strains of many different genotypes was not succeeded. New genogroup of astroviruses was recognized in Japan. The first Japanese strain of a new genus in Picrnaviridae, such as cosavius was found. Cell cultures of human norovirus and sapovirus were not succeeded.
