Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We analyzed function of Cyp26b1 in chondrocytes by using conditional knockout mice which lack Cyp26b1 in chondrocyte-specific manner. The mice showed abnormal chondrocyte differentiation and cartilage formation, and short limbs. We also created iPS cell model from the disease in which chondrocyte differentiation is abnormal, and analyzed their pathology.
