Outline of Final Research Achievements

We made the following five recombinant V-antigen proteins of pathogenic gram-negative bacteria (Pseudomonas aeruginosa PcrV, Yersinia LcrV, Vibrio VcrV, Aeromonas AcrV, and Photolahbdus LssV). Then, we developed measurement system for human anti-V-antigen titers, and performed an epidemiological study to examine serum titers against these V-antigens in 200 volunteers. As a result, we found that there are wide variations in V-antigen titers and these variations may have some effects on the infectivity of individuals.
