Outline of Final Research Achievements |
To reveal the plastic changes of the cortico-spinal tract induced by rehabilitation after the spinal cord injury and to enhance the recovery with external stimulation, we attempted to generate transgenic rats that express channelrhodopsin-GFP fusion protein specifically in the cortico-spinal tract. We have successfully obtained one transgenic-positive founder. We are currently examining the expression of the transgene.
