Outline of Final Research Achievements |
There are many Christians in the "South Islands(南島)" and have unique faith. In this study, I have clarified that the cause is in the occupation of the US military in each group of Okinawa after the war. The South Islands Christianity evangelism started seriously at the end of the 19th century. And that evangelism formed a network of faith with the former colonies and the surrounding areas and states of the empire Japan. Also, believers and evangelists crossed over those areas and repeated various exchanges. And they got "knowledge of circumcision evangelism" different from the mainland, they returned to the South Islands and spread them. Thus, I prove that the "arc of popular Christianity" was formed in the area around the South Islands. In addition, I revealed that the characteristics of that faith are inherited even after the war.
