Research Abstract |
We are entering the final year of this 3-year project and the interim results will be published as follows: Prof. Takahashi: international journal Jasca 2 (2014), Ass. Prof. Ciesko: a paper at the Annual Conference of the Classical Association of Japan (June), to be published in the Society's journal, as well as a paper at an International Conference in Kyoto in September (to be published as well). One of the accompanying results is an offer to publish a philological commentary on one of the authors dealt with in this research - I will start work on it after the current 3-year project has ended. The offer was extended to me from the series editor, Prof. Zimmermann. Cooperation with foreign scholars is also progressing smoothly: both by Prof. Takahashi in Washington and me in Athens (and via email with Freiburg, Germany).

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
We are at about 70 % of our joint research - progressing smoothly and according to plan.In this final year input from colleagues and fellow scholars at conferences will contribute to streamlining and improving our ideas.further.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
This final year we will both present our interim results at international conferences and through cooperation and discussion with other scholars will develop particular areas of interest further. I am already thinking about a new project that I will start after this one: I will focus on a grammatical and literary (full philological) commentary on the comic poet Philemon where I will be able to draw on the results of this project and develop them in new directions.
|
Expenditure Plans for the Next FY Research Funding |
I have used more money than expected for travel expenses in Athens, Greece and conversely could not use money allocated for inviting a foreign scholar to Japan. I will cut down on my travel expenses this year or use personal funds.
