Outline of Final Research Achievements |
As regards social changes around Thailand, especially political conflict in urban areas, it was mainly described by the institutional approach or the analysis of political economy. This research focused on social movements related to social change, not only from the macroscopic approach in a level of nation state but also from the microscopic approach of interactions in urban and rural areas. This research also pointed out the importance of both viewpoints of macroscopic and microscopic approaches to social movements, mainly focusing on political social movements around former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, and community movements of Myanmar migrant workers in Thailand.
