Outline of Final Research Achievements

Competitive pressures by several interest groups influence a government's decision on whether to adopt public policy favorable for economic development. This research project focuses on the analysis of conditions that inducive to public policies that facilitates industrialization, and made empirical research on the choice of public policies by Indian state governments. As a result, I found that when industrial sector has strong bargaining power, relative to other interest groups such agricultural sector, state governments tend to adopt public policies favorable for indsutrial development.
