Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research conducted the empirical analysis on the factors affecting innovation of European suppliers providing parts to Volkswagen and Renault producing environmentally friendly cars. As a result,it became clear that a supplier's technological exploration of distant knowledge is curvilineally (inverted U-shape) related to its value of innovation. furthermore, key auto maker's long-term proprietary involvement of interdependent technology development with its supplier positively moderates inverted U-shaped curvilinear relationship between supplier's exploration of distant knowledge and supplier’s innovativeness of technology. Therefore,it became obvious that when a supplier can form a long-term base relationship with its auto maker and an auto maker can be proprietorially committed to the development of technology by coowning patents, innovativeness of technology will increase.
