Outline of Final Research Achievements |
As part of the research on women researchers active support policies in academic societies of the U.S., this study aims at clarifying, in the fields of sociology, history and psychology, how concretely support policies towards women researchers were submitted in the context of emergence of women's academic caucuses among academic societies as well as the development of the latter to specialized societies, and secondly, to clarify how the women's academic caucuses, that had become specialized societies, tried to reform their academic field. The women's specialized societies were all requested, in order to establish a woman’s status as a research subject, to integrate within their academic societies' support policies both (1) the abolition of any kind of gender discrimination in academic societies as well as in higher education system and (2) the issues such as pregnancy, birth, and child rearing which were conventionally thought as private issues.
