Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Public expenditure on higher education cannot be expected to expand since public expenditure on social securities has grown every year and public debt has exceeded 200% of GDP in Japan. In the US and the UK tuition charges have risen to secure the quality of college education when government budgets have been cut. This study has examined whether Japanese colleges and universitites rise tuition charges and has found university senior administrators prefer to keep the tuition at current level.
