Research Abstract

本研究は、一次元量子スピン系の動的構造因子をパルス中性子源に設置された中性子非弾性散乱装置で測定し、装置分解能を考慮して解析することにより、連続帯励起や量子相転移等の量子効果を検出するものである。J-PARC/MLFに設置された高分解能チョッパー分光器（HRC）のデータ解析系において、装置分解能の補正技術を開発し、これを用いてHRCで測定する一次元量子スピン系の動的構造因子を解析することにより、連続帯励起や量子相転移等の量子効果を検出するものである。中性子非弾性散乱実験は、エネルギー(1次元)と運動量（3次元）の4次元空間で動的構造因子を測定する実験方法であり、4次元空間における分解能関数の解析的表現はすでに知られている。昨年度までに、このすでに知られている解析表現をもとに分解能関数をコーディングし、その動作確認を行なった。今年度は、このコードを用いて、古典論的一次元反強磁性スピン波の動的構造因子（エネルギー幅をデルタ関数で表現）が分解能関数でたたみこまれた散乱強度の計算を行い、単結晶試料の一次元反強磁性体CsVCl3の磁気励起の測定データと比較することに成功した。その結果、実験データは、古典論的計算に比べて明らかに広いエネルギー幅を持つことがわかった。このネルギーの広がりは理論的に提唱されている、量子スピンが3/2の系での量子効果による連続帯励起とコンシステントであることがわかった。

Reason

4次元空間での分解能関数と動的構造因子の一例との畳み込みの計算と実際の測定データの比較ができるところまですすんだ。昨年度まで実施してきた、粉末試料を念頭に置いた2次元空間での分解能関数の実験的評価に基づく研究も進展し、国内外の学・国際会議での発表を行った。従って、研究はおおむね順調にすすんでいる。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

古典論的一次元スピン波の動的構造因子（エネルギー幅をデルタ関数で表現）が分解能関数でたたみこまれた散乱強度の計算と実際の測定データの比較を完成させるとともに、ランダム一次元系の中性子非弾性散乱実験データも同様に解析する。これらをとおして、研究のまとめを行う。
