高分子のセグメント運動の相関長に対する分子論的考察

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

ポリイソプレン(PI)とポリ(t-ブチルスチレン) (PtBS) はそれぞれのガラス転移温度(Tg)と絡み合い長が大きく異なるが, 広範な温度域で相溶することが知られている.線形粘弾性域では, 局所緩和は高TgをもつPtBSに支配されるため, PIのRouse緩和はPtBSにより遅延されるが, 終端緩和の時間域はあまり影響されない.このため, PI/PtBSブレンド中でのPIの絡み合い平坦部は不明瞭となる. 本研究では, 種々の成分分子量, 組成をもつ絡み合いPI/PtBSブレンド系と, 対応する(非絡み合い)Rouse PI/PtBSブレンド系の比較により, ブレンドの平坦部弾性率と絡み合い長を見積もった. その結果, 本PI/PtBSブレンドの絡み合い長は, 従来(他種の高分子種の)相溶性ブレンド系について提案されているブレンド則からは大きく逸脱していることが明らかとなった. このことは, おそらくPIとPtBSの間の(顕著な相溶性を発現させる)特殊な相互作用に起因すると考えられる.
さらに, PI, PtBS各成分の分子量と組成を適切に選ぶことにより, ブレンド中のPI成分とPtBS成分が同じ終端緩和時間τを持つようなブレンド系を調製した.このブレンド系は, 単分散ホモポリマー系と同様の線形粘弾性応答を示した. PI, PtBS各成分鎖はいずれも十分に大きな絡み合い数をもち,それぞれの単分散バルク状態ではいずれも大変形下で強いダンピング挙動を示すが, このPI/PtBSブレンド系の非線形ダンピングはそれより弱く, Doi-Edwardsモデルの予測に近いことが明らかとなった.この, PI/PtBSブレンド系での非線形ダンピングの抑制は, PI成分とPtBS成分それぞれのRouse収縮時間の差を反映していると考えられる.
