Outline of Final Research Achievements

A sensitivity analysis method that finds out the appropriate location for structure modification is presented. The outcome of the research can be summarized as follows. 1) In the case of mass-added sensitivity analysis, it is possible to correctly predict the response after the mass addition under the condition that the driving point FRF (Frequency Response Function) is measured. Measurement of multi-axis auto FRF may contribute to the precision improvement. 2) Sensitivity analysis for bending stiffness needs the FRF with respect to rotational angular acceleration that is difficult to measure in conventional environments. For solving this problem we examined an interpolation approach by using a spline function, where the angular response is obtained by differentiating the interpolated function. 3) The proposed method is used for steady state response in the frequency domain. It is concluded that the sensitivity analysis for the transient response in the time domain is also applicable.
