Outline of Final Research Achievements

We demonstrate a phase stabilized quadruple OTDM multiplier for RZ/CS-RZ optical clock with optical couplers. An optical bandpass filter (OBPF) was used to filter the desired sidebands from the multiplier output, and the filtered output was used for the stabilization. 10 GHz optical clock was multiplied to 40 GHz with 17 dB undesired sideband suppression ratio.
We made a numerical simulation of octuple OTDM multiplier for RZ/CS-RZ optical clock. It turned out that very steep OBPF characteristic was required for filtering the desired sidebands, and which conclude that realization of 16 times OTDM multiplier with one OBPF for phase stabilization is difficult.
We made a phase stabilized 2 x OTDM multiplier with polarization maintaining optical fiber. 10 GHz optical clock was multiplied to 20 GHz with undesired sideband suppression ratio of > 25 dB and > 22 dB for RZ and CS-RZ optical clock, respectively.
