Outline of Final Research Achievements

We analyzed the CpG methylation upstream of exon 1 in mouse prion protein gene. We show that the CpG island including promoter region in PrP gene is nonmethylated in all tissues. On the other hand, CpG methylation in upstream region adjacent to the CpG Island has occurred in various proportions.
