Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Sperm chromosome forms highly condensed chromatin structure during spermatogenesis to send their information to next generation. We focus on a biological similarity between adenovirus infection cycle and spermatogenesis/fertilization. A histone chaperone, TAF-I, is not only able to remodel adenoviral chromatin structure, but also to make sperm chromatin decondensed in vitro. A series of experiments suggests that TAF-I is involved in cell growth during differentiation and development through its histone chaperone activity.
