Outline of Final Research Achievements

Various risk factors for depression in cancer patients have been suggested but have been examined separately in studies with relatively small sample sizes. The present study examined the biopsychosocial risk factors of depression in cancer, focusing on molecular epidemiological factors. We recruited newly diagnosed as having cancer before first line treatment consecutively. We aim to identify comprehensive geriatric assessment (CGA) based clinical factors associated with depression. Logistic regression models were fitted to estimate the odds ratio (OR) to assess the association of various variables with mild to severe depression. And, we exploratory conduct GWAS of depressive symptoms.
