Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, using a newly generated mutant mouse (Spade mouse), which spontaneous develops atopic dermatitis like skin disease, we investigated a responsible cells and factors for development of dermatitis. Our data showed that basophils played a pivotal role in development of dermatitis in our Spade mouse model. Our results suggested that basophils were activated by TSLP and/or IL-33, and then, basophils secreted IL-4 and IL-13, those induced allergic responses directly or regulated inflammatory cells such as eosinophils, neutrophils and macrophages.
