Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Use of liver grafts from donors after cardiac death (DCD) is one of the ways to attenuate the organ shortage in clinical liver transplantation (LT). To introduce the DCD-LT in Japan, we conducted a study of porcine LT using DCD as a translational research. As a results, porcine model of DCD-LT operation has been established. In addition, the efficacy of pharmacological graft protection has been suggested.
