Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Self-reported instruments to measure self-care behaviors and illness perceptions among Japanese patients with type 2 diabetes who need interventions to prevent diabetic complications might not be valid because patients' self-assessment were positively biased (ceiling effect). We found that the revised illness perception questionnaire may be useful to identify clusters of patients rather than to measure individual illness belief domains when the association of illness perceptions with self-care behaviors were examined among Iranian patients with type 2 diabetes.
