Outline of Final Research Achievements

The purposes of this study were to find out (1) the state of dental visits and how survivors manage their dental health care and (2) health behaviors in young cancer survivors. And then, we held the workshop for cancer survivors and their family about nutrition and exercise based on our research.
About 20% of childhood cancer survivors experienced the late effect on mouth. Need to give information about childhood cancer treatments and late effects to dentists because more than 60% visit dentist’s office. About half of childhood cancer survivors have been attending hospital for such late effects. The physiques were getting thin but health behaviors were generally good. Less than half survivors didn’t exercise regularly, so it is necessary to tell survivors about importance of exercise.
