Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study aims to find physical parameters of material surface affecting preferences of product. An alternative measurement method of tactile sense by use of concrete microphone was first introduced to detect a vibration caused by human finger sliding on test piece having three dimensional surface structure usually assigned by geometrical product specifications. The sound signal caused by a finger rubbing on a test piece was next measured on thirty tree species including general wood materials. The results were analyzed in a frequency domain and provided as a useful data for further study on human tactile and preference.
