Research Abstract |
Reactive oxygen species are not only used as an intra- and intercellular messenger, but also involved in the onset of diseases such as inflammation or cancer. In this study, we aimed to develop an efficient method that can quantitatively detect reactive oxygen species in real time with high sensitivity. Since boron shows high affinity toward a certain type of reactive oxygen species, we developed a new synthetic method of organoboron-containing componds. We also synthesized a new coelenterazine analogue which served as an efficient substrate for a coelenterazine-type bioluminescence system.
