Research Abstract |
In natural ecosystem, more than 80% of seed plants form symbiotic associations with mycorrhizal fungi and several plant individuals can be connected by underground mycelia of mycorrhizal fungi (known as common mycorrhizal networks - CMN). The CMN can transfer water, carbon, and nutrients between connected plant individuals. In this study, we investigated whether stress signals of plant defense can be transported through common mycorrhizal networks.
