Research Abstract |
Severe Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infections, such as chronic active EBV infection and EBV-associated hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, are refractory to therapies and intractable diseases. Recently, fetal-maternal lymphohematopoietic microchimerism can be detected in blood from healthy individuals, and immunological tolerance exists between mothers and children. In this study, in order to develop novel therapies for severe EBV infections, fundamental studies including the proof of fetomaternal microchimerism have been performed for establishing cell therapy.
