Research Abstract |
Synapses change its morphology and size in response to outputs out of a brain, and therefore provide flexibility to neuronal network in brain. Phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphoshate (PIP3) plays important roles in neuronal functions such as dendritic arborization and synapse plasticity. It has been unknown how PIP3 work for synapses. In the present study, I found that PIP3 regulates spinule formation in a single dendritic spine during long-term potentiation.
