Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this research was to clarify the number and rate of the serious injuries in school sports and to get a clue of safety measures. Some findings have already been released on the website in Japanese and English in order to appeal the necessity of prompt action. Results from the analysis of data show that there are more serious cases in rugby and judo than in any other major sports in schools. Because head and cervical injuries are main causes of those serious cases, it is important for sports safety to focus on head and cervical injuries.
