Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study was conducted for the purpose of identifying the mechanism of "Chongqing model", an economic development model of Chongqing City, China, with analysis by published stastical data and interviews there. As a result, (1) the economy in Chongqing is changing from an extensive growth pattern to an intensive one, (2) urban-rural disparity in Chongqing has been shrinking, (3) Reforms in "Hokou", household registry system in China and housing urge rural-to-urban migration (4) however, people migrated from the rural to urban are still not provided with sufficient support for employment.
