Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study has revealed two dynamic effects of “Women’s Reserved Seats System” at village council, named “Panchayat”, in rural India by showing secondary data and field research data. Since its introduction in 1990s, the reserved seats system has stimulated not only women’s political awareness but also their distrust against politics. As a case study, a microfinance leader’s interview data had been collected in Karnataka state. Her experience can be considered as “re-marginalization” of women from politics.
