| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
This research focuses on non-native maternal speech and its impact on early child language development. Results from this research project has been orally presented at two domestic and two international conferences. A research paper which examines the impact of maternal errors in the non-native speech on the child's errors is currently under review by an international research journal. A further paper on the language policies of Thai mothers in Japan is currently written up as a chapter for a book on the sociolinguistics of immigration.
