Outline of Final Research Achievements |
I focused on colonial expositions and exhibitions about colonies from 1868 to 1945. I co-edited, “Collection of the world. Museums, Exhibitions and Sightseeing about Asia”,Yamakawa shuppansha , Tokyo,2014.,and wrote an article in this book “1931 International Colonial Exposition in Paris”. I talked about “Colonies and Exhibitions” at a regular meeting of workshop for imperial history.(May 15th,2014). In 2015,I organized an international symposium “Sightseeing tour and Modern Japan; Picture postcards and Exhibitions” and talked about “Exhibitions and Sightseeing; a case study of exhibitions in 1930's”. I had a lecture about “Exhibitions in Modern Japan” at Cambridge University, in November 8th 2016. It focused on how colonies and disputed area were exhibited at domestic exhibitions in 1930's.
