Outline of Final Research Achievements |
A rotating gantry is used to transport a particle beam to a patient in cancer therapy. In this study, the development of curved superconducting magnets for the rotating gantry was conducted to reduce the weight and size of a magnet used in the gantry. As a result, the design code of a curved superconducting coil for the gantry was developed. Using the design code, optimized three-dimensional coil configurations for the gantry can be realized. In addition, the design study of the curved superconducting coil was conducted. As a result, the effect of curing coil configuration on electromagnetic phenomenon of the coil was revealed.
