Research Abstract |
We focused on vascular endothelial dysfunction to study the mechanism of vascular calcification in CKD patient. We would like to clarify to the molecular mechanism of a vascular calcification in post menopausal women with CKD. We investigated vascular calcification in female C57BL/6J mice which underwent 5/6 nephrectomy (NX) and ovariectomy(OVX). Experiments included the following four groups: sham operation; NX; OVX; NX+OVX. Four group did not show calcification in the aorta. We thought that it was necessary to examine in the model of RAS system activation or the model with a high level of serum phosphate.
