Research Abstract	Because of the difficulty in enrollment, we also included acute heart failure patients. Pericardial fat volume was significantly higher in older than younger patients, in those with atrial fibrillation and hypertension than those without atrial fibrillation or hypertension. Higher age was independently associated with bone CT density in thoracic vertebra. Pericardial fat may reflect the comorbidity of heart failure such as atrial fibrillation, hypertension, and higher age. Aging may be a key component between fat and bone metabolism in heart failure patients.
