Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In order to examine the role of phospholipase C epsilon (PLCε) in the skin, we created transgenic mice overexpressing PLCε in epidermal keratinocytes(K5-PLCε-TG mouse). The K5-PLCε-TG mice spontaneously developed skin inflammation as characterized by formation of adherent silvery scales. Histologically, acanthuses, neutrophil infiltration in the epidermis, and STAT3 activation in keratinocytes were observed.
